The Thomaston DTC plays an integral part in identifying, endorsing and helping elect leaders to town, state and national offices. Candidates are endorsed for all town offices in odd-numbered years by a majority vote of registered Democrats present and voting at the party caucus. To qualify as a candidate, names are submitted to the nominating committee which serves as a candidate screening committee. Candidates can also be presented from the floor of the caucus. Delegates to conventions are selected by slate in even-numbered years. Delegates are selected for multi-town legislative seats and for conventions where gubernatorial, US Senate, Congress and state constitutional office candidates are selected. For the purpose of endorsing a candidate for state representative, only those members who reside within the district may participate in the endorsement. Please Contact Us for more information.
Thomaston is located in the 5th Congressional District, the 32nd State Senatorial District and the 76th State Representative District.
