SKIP DEL VAGLIO FOR FIRST SELECTMAN
I was raised on Union Street in Thomaston and graduated from the Thomaston schools. Working for the family newspapers (The Thomaston Express) and McGraw-Hill taught me the necessity of controlling costs, budgeting and fiscal responsibility. Now my printing and mailing business (Rollins Printing & Publishing, Inc.) is located in Waterbury (Awarded "2010 Business of the Year" by The Waterbury Neighborhood Council).
My wife, Cynthia and I chose to raise our family in my hometown. For the past 17 years I have volunteered on various boards and commissions including: the Economic Development Commission, Planning and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, Board of Assessment Appeals and the high school building committee.
Thomaston is a remarkable town. I want to be your First Selectman, because I want to preserve the quality of life for current and future residents. I am prepared to work with you to face the economic and industrial challenges before us; to work together to bring new businesses to our empty store fronts, to collaborate with industries to expand or relocate here and to maintain services and keep takes affordable by growing the Grand List.
I am asking for your vote on November 8th. Let’s move forward together!

BRUCE BARRETT FOR BOARD OF SELECTMEN
I love Thomaston and I am excited to be a candidate for the Board of Selectmen. I would appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve our wonderful town as a member of the Board of Selectmen. In 1881, my great-grandfather came from Germany and worked for Seth Thomas Clocks for many years. I was born in Thomaston and have lived here since 1975. My wife Laurie and I have been married for 32 years and have raised 5 children in town.
Through the years I have volunteered for many organizations including: Volunteer Fire Department, Rotary, Boy Scouts, Thomaston Youth Soccer, Thomaston Little League, and Project Graduation. I am an active member of the St. Thomas Parish serving on the parish council and as a Eucharistic minister and lector. These activities have given me a deeper understanding of the many challenges facing the residents of Thomaston.
In 1996 my wife and I started Barrett Family Oil Co. As owner/operator, I am in charge of all aspects of the business. Today we serve over 900 families in 13 towns. In the current economy I know we are in for some tough times, however, I am looking forward to continuing the improvements to our roads and to the development of the greenway. Working together, we can continue to build our thriving town. I am asking for your support on November 8th so I can continue to work hard serving you.
