BOARD OF EDUCATION

Our schools are our future. Thomaston Democrats consistently nominate candidates who will always advocate to strengthen our school system and prioritize the needs of the students first. The Board of Education election this year is more important than ever, and our candidates Sarah and Beth need your support.

 

2019 CANDIDATES

Beth Campbell

Previous Offices Held/Community Involvement: BOE 2013-Present, Vice Chair 2017-Present; Member of Thomaston Covenant Church; Former Thomaston Little League Coach; Co-organizer 4th of July Children’s Parade

Personal: Daughter – Megan (attends Thomaston schools), 3rd generation Thomastonian, raising 4th generation

Education: Thomaston High School, AS Nursing Excelsior College

Employment: Supervisor of Care Management, Total Population Health at Connecticare (Nurse for 18 years)

Sarah Ethier

Community Involvement: Soccer coach with the Thomaston Soccer club

Personal: Married to her husband Steve for 9 years who currently serves as a Physical Education teacher. Together, they have two children Carter and Jackson, who are 8 and 6 years old, respectfully.

Education: Sarah attended Thomaston Public Schools from Kindergarten through her graduation from high school. She then received her degree from the University of Connecticut.

Employment: Sarah has been employed at EdAdvance HeadStart for the past eleven years. During this time, she has taught in the classroom and worked with families as a Family Service Coordinator. In her current position, she works with a collaboration classroom in a local school.
