Thomaston DTC Honors Marie Galbraith for 2019 Scholarship

April 17, 2019

We thank all of the applicants from Thomaston for applying for our annual scholarship. Our Scholarship Committee will be reviewing applications this week.

We are pleased to honor Mrs. Marie Galbraith for our 2019 scholarship. Each year, the DTC selects one graduating senior residing in Thomaston to earn our scholarship. This year, we will award this scholarship in honor of Marie.

Marie has provided a key role in the local, regional, and state Democratic politics for over forty years. As one of our most active members, Marie supported committee fundraising and campaign activities giving her time and talents to make Thomaston a better place to live. During her tenure, she served as Chairwoman and Vice-Chairwoman of the DTC and as a member of the Thomaston Board of Education, Board of Finance, Water Pollution Control Authority, and Planning and Zoning Commission. In 1986, Marie elected to represent our town as state legislator.

We are also grateful to Marie for her service on the Thomaston Historical Society, the Thomaston Public Library and in the Thomaston Public Schools.

Thank you, Marie, for everything you have done for your Thomaston community, and best of luck to this year's applicants!
