Meet Tanya Galpin, candidate for Board of Education. She is an Unaffiliated candidate, endorsed by the Democratic Town Committee.

I served on the Thomaston PTA for 10 years, 4 of those as Co-President, the remainder of the years I chaired many fundraising events. I was on Thomaston Little League Board for 8 years, 6 years as President. I currently chair Thomaston’s 150th Anniversary Committee. I also serve on the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission, Thomaston Recreation Commission, and the Conservation Committee.

I have been married to my husband, Bert, superintendent of the Thomaston Water Control Facility, for 23 years. We’ve raised our three kids, Landen, Danica and Dustin, here in Thomaston, all attending Thomaston schools. While here in Thomaston, we are a family that gives back every chance we can. My husband has been on the Fire Department for 25 years and in the past I’ve volunteered on the Ambulance Corps.

My goal for Board of Education is to make everything as transparent as possible. I would like the everyone to know that I am approachable and here for them, and their students.
