Meet Jeff Dunn, dedicated member of the Board of Selectman and candidate for First Selectman! Jeff is a lifelong resident of Thomaston and community leader with deep roots in our town. As a current Selectman and Police Commissioner, Jeff brings both fresh perspective and deep institutional knowledge to the role of First Selectman. His unique combination of nonprofit management expertise, business acumen, and grassroots community organizing makes him uniquely qualified to lead Thomaston into its next chapter.


Jeff’s volunteerism throughout Thomaston is hard to miss. He has been a member of the Board of Selectman and Police Commission since 2019. He is the secretary of the Thomaston Opera House Building Committee; on the Board of Corporators at Thomaston Savings Bank, held various leadership positions at the Rotary Club of Thomaston, served on the Board of Directors of Western Connecticut Tourism District, is the former Chairman of the Arts and Culture Collaborative of Waterbury Region and has been member and past Chairman of the Thomaston Economic Development Commission.


Jeff is the Executive Director of Landmark Community Theatre (2012-present) and was Executive Director of Thomaston Opera House (1999-2009). Jeff’s leadership has helped to build Thomaston's contemporary community theatre from individual productions into a year-round operation with a comprehensive volunteer system with hundreds of participants, encouraging effective and organized community engagement.


Jeff’s role on the Board of Selectman has allowed him to serve the Town of Thomaston with hands-on experience in municipal governance, budget oversight, and public safety administration. He has gained valuable insight into police operations, community policing strategies, and the critical balance between public safety and community trust.
